Inline Coating
Inline coating can be used to create different effects on digital printing on the Kodak Nexpress SE2500. We use our Fifth Imaging Unit Solution for the coating process.
We can use inline coating but the printed output is totally recyclable. Coating extends the life of the print and flood coating is particularly suitable for print that is handled regularly – like direct mail or leaflets.
The inline coating process begins with the Clear Dry Ink being applied via the Fifth Imaging Unit. Coatings can be applied to just one side or to both sides of a job.
The coating effect must take place at the time of printing – it cannot be applied afterwards. The coating creates a satin finish to the printed output.
You do not need to make any special preparations for a coated finish. It is possible also specify a gloss coating. This must be specified before printing so the Glossing Unit can be set up inline.
Inline coating options include watermarking, spot or flood coating – even on variable data printing runs. Watermarking can be used to enhance appearance and add security by preventing copying.
