ISO14001 is important because it shows your business is focused on good working practices in relation to environmental issues. It is designed to ensure the business has the minimum impact on the environment throughout the entire printing process.
Environmental Management Systems
The standard was first published in 1996 and it details the specific requirements for an Environmental Management System (EMS). It looks at the environmental aspects over which the business has control and can influence.
Well Known & Well Respected
ISO14001 is seen as the cornerstone of the 14000 series, and is not only the most well known, but also the only standard that can be certified by an external certification authority. It does not however specifically state environmental performance criteria.
